Andrew Whelan
General Manager
Andrew has been with AP Group since the beginning and brings more than a decade of experience in pharmacy finance and strategy. He leads projects that drive innovation and sustainability, including AP Group’s commitment to being a 100% carbon neutral brokerage.
Before joining AP Group, Andrew held senior management roles at Telstra and managed the commercial function for British Sky Broadcasting in the UK. His depth of experience in telecommunications, media, and finance makes him a trusted advisor for clients navigating major financial decisions.
Outside of work, Andrew is a keen cyclist and devoted father of two.
Troy Schirmer
National Finance Manager
Troy brings more than a decade of experience in banking and lending, having spent 11.5 years with NAB, including eight years as a Banker within NAB Health. He has supported clients across Victoria and nationally, helping finance the purchase of a wide range of businesses, from pharmacies and medical clinics to childcare centres and other commercial assets.
Highly experienced across business lending, home lending, and asset finance, Troy holds a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Finance, along with a Diploma of Financial Planning. He is known for his practical approach and ability to navigate complex lending structures with clarity and confidence.
Outside of work, Troy enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, watching just about any sport, and is a proud Essendon tragic.
Judilyn Macario
Loan Processor
Judilyn plays a key role in supporting clients through the early stages of the finance process. From collecting information and assessing capacity to liaising with lenders, she ensures applications stay on track and clients feel supported at every step.
She brings almost four years of mortgage experience across both lender and broker sides, including roles at Westpac and in loan processing. Her ability to manage detail while keeping clients at ease makes her a valued member of the team.
Judilyn enjoys singing, playing instruments, and trekking in her spare time.
Elizabeth Liew
Senior Administrator
Elizabeth provides essential support across AP Group, working closely with both the sales and finance teams. Known for her organisation and adaptability, she helps ensure processes run smoothly for colleagues and clients alike.
Her career has spanned international roles in the airline, publishing, and events industries, followed by six years in administration roles in Australia after completing a Diploma in Leadership and Management.
When she’s not coordinating tasks at work, Elizabeth enjoys reading mystery novels, travelling, and time at the beach.
Kathy Marshman
Business Support
Kathy provides broad support across AP Group, assisting with pharmacy sales, trust account management, finance applications, and legal operations. Her strong organisational skills and experience make her the go-to person for many areas of the business.
She joined AP Group in 2016 after holding long-term operations roles in industries ranging from scientific research to online publishing, where she built expertise in process development, systems implementation, and quality management.
Outside of work, Kathy balances her role with family life and her puppy Lewy.
Dee McNamara
Marketing Manager
Dee has over 15 years’ experience developing and implementing marketing strategies across a range of industries, including sports, tourism, and fashion. Before joining AP Group, she was a creative director at a boutique marketing agency. She holds a Master of Marketing (with Distinction) and has been published in Marketing Magazine.
At AP Group, she manages brand and marketing strategy, drawn by a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Outside of work, Dee is also an accomplished surfboat rower and loves being active.
Phoenix Nguyen
Systems Manager
Phoenix has more than 18 years’ IT experience across Australia, Asia, and the USA. His expertise spans IT infrastructure, CRM and ERP systems, web development, and process improvement, helping AP Group run more efficiently.
He has worked with leading companies including Sony, Macquarie Group, Jetstar, and Fast Retailing Co., bringing a wealth of technical and strategic knowledge to his role.
Away from technology, Phoenix is a keen surfer and fisherman.
